In the field of proteomics, the quality of mass spectrometry data has been steadily improving. This trend is an important first step in enabling the field to begin solving important biological questions. The next step is figure out what is meaningful in gigabytes of data from complex experiments. The Rosetta Elucidator® system—which offers a comprehensive set of productivity and analysis tools and the PeakTeller® algorithm—enables researchers to get answers from their data. The Elucidator system has emerged as a leader in software solutions to support this trend, as demonstrated by our collaboration with the Waters Corporation and the number of scientific presentations relying on the Elucidator system for proteomics data management and analysis at the 56th ASMS annual conference in Denver, CO.
Recently, Rosetta Biosoftware and Waters achieved a milestone in their collaboration to develop a fully-integrated solution for using the Elucidator system with Waters UltraPerformance LC®/MSE data and Waters IdentityE® search engine. The IdentityE enabled-Elucidator system is the only third-party software that is capable of qualitatively and quantitatively processing Waters MSE best-in-class high mass accuracy data. This total solution was showcased at the Waters' hospitality suite at ASMS. If you missed us, you have another opportunity to learn more by attending our Webinar on July 24. Our presence at the ASMS conference was a valuable opportunity to see how researchers are using the Elucidator system in their research. There were at least a dozen customer posters and presentations that featured proteomics analyses with the Elucidator system. These analyses featured data generated from different instruments that the Elucidator system supports (e.g., Thermo Scientific's OrbiTrap™, ABI's QSTAR®, and Waters' Q-Tof Premier™, to name a few1). From lipoprotein studies to the identification of cancer biomarkers, both academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies benefited from the Elucidator system's capabilities to effectively manage mass spectrometry data from multiple instruments--no matter the data set size, experiment design (e.g., multi-factor), or complexity of the analysis. Overall, it was exciting to talk with researchers to understand their requirements for managing proteomics data and to also understand how metabolomics data factors into their research.
On a final note, we're including several enhancements and features in version 3.2 of the Elucidator system, which will be released later this year. We've enhanced the PeakTeller® algorithm and expanded support for additional labeling methodologies and included a new Verification Viewer for these labeling methods (Figure 1). For more information, please contact us. You can also request a one-on-one WebEx demonstration.
