European Director of Sales

The European Director of Sales, reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Sales, will support Rosetta Biosoftware's commercial and revenue objectives in Europe through direct management of sales and account activities, as well as managing any regional distribution channels. Additionally, the Director of Sales will provide front-line management for Rosetta Biosoftware's European subsidiary, Rosetta Biosoftware UK, Ltd.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain a sales pipeline for Rosetta Biosoftware products in Europe.
  • Develop and expand relationships within existing customers in Europe.
  • Coordinate and conduct product demos at Rosetta Biosoftware, via WebEx or at prospect site.
  • Attend conference calls and customer visits as part of the sales process.
  • Represent Rosetta Biosoftware at trade shows and symposia by conducting workshop, giving oral presentations and staffing the Rosetta Biosoftware booth.
  • Collect and validate sales leads at trade shows, symposia and other lead generating sources.
  • Follow up on sales inquiries with the objective of qualifying prospects for further discussions and product demos.
  • Coordinate product evaluations with the Sales Support Project Manager following established product evaluation process.
  • Work with Marketing department on the development of electronic and print sales collateral and on the coordination of Rosetta Biosoftware-sponsored prospect or customer meetings.
  • Contribute information to Prospect Profile initiative.
  • Oversee training and customer support activities in the Territory.
  • Coordinate, implement and ensure completion of product installation.
  • Manage transition of new accounts to Customer Support.

Administrative Duties

  • Provide parent organization with all requested documentation, including supporting documentation for financial reports and customer invoices.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled internal team and individual meetings.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts for the Territory.
  • Maintain expenses within established guidelines.
  • Submit regular expense reports for reimbursement.
  • Write trip reports.
  • Write monthly departmental reports for distribution via internal newsletter.
  • Maintain a home office.
  • Travel: approximately 50%.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience in the life science research and/or informatics software industry, experience with gene and protein expression technologies highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with proteomics, especially the use of LC/MS for biomarker identification and metabolomics.
  • Familiarity with genetics, especially genotyping.
  • Familiarity with industry technologies such as Oracle, Solaris, Linux, and JAVA and computational tools such as MATLAB, R and SAS desirable.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Exemplary organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external team members at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong familiarity with presentation software applications, such as PowerPoint.
  • Strong familiarity with the pharmaceutical drug development life cycle.
