This position manages Biosoftware Professional Services engagements in the area of Genetics involving cross-departmental or cross-functional teams consisting of customers, scientist, software developers, QA engineers and customer support personnel focused on delivery of Biosoftware services to customers. Monitors assigned Services projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customers and development/delivery teams on all matters related to Services projects. Personally responsible for successful delivery of assigned deliverables/services to customers on schedule within project budget constraints, and customer acceptance of the deliverables. This position reports to Biosoftware Director of Professional Services.
Responsibilities
- Assists Director, Professional Services in all matters related to sales and initiation of professional services projects to customers and prospects
- Under direction from Director, Professional Services prepares contractual documents and participates in customer negotiations as requested
- Gathers, documents and manages detailed customer workflows and requirements throughout projects lifecycle
- Manages all customer communications related to assigned Professional Services projects
- Proposes creative, scientifically sound solutions meeting customer expectations
- In close collaboration with product manager strives to maximize long term benefits and alignment of service deliverables with product plans while ensuring customer satisfaction with regard to services deliverables
- Works closely with software project manager (Development), software architect, developers and QA engineers throughout design and implementation phases to ensure quality design and implementation and timely completion of the Professional Services projects.
- Working through assigned development project manager actively participates in organization and execution of the service development process. Prepares and maintain overall project plans, budgets and other project documentation.
- Upon completion of the development cycle in collaboration with customer support organizes delivery and installation of software deliverables to customers and obtains project acceptance by customer.
- In collaboration with Biosoftware sales account managers works towards developing long-term relationships with strategic customers in order to create future PS opportunities
- Provides regular updates to Director of Professional Services and General Manager on matters related to status of assigned Professional Services projects.
- Participates as requested in marketing activities and promotion of Biosoftware Professional Services.
- Trains customers on the use of Professional Services deliverables
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics or related field.
- In-depth understanding of a wide array of Genetics and relevant technologies
- Experience in a program/project management; familiarity with SDLC preferred.
