Cogenics Division of Clinical Data Contributes microRNA Analysis Expertise to Rosetta Resolver System
The gene arrays from Affymetrix enable scientists to query the entire transcriptome―with increased sensitivity for detecting expression levels―for a given species, which translates into reduced costs for scientists engaged in microarray-based studies, such as tissue profiling or toxicogenomics. The Resolver system enables support of the arrays, including import and data analysis within the Resolver system and interaction with third-party programs, such as RMA, gcRMA, and Affymetrix PLIER.
“The Affymetrix gene arrays deliver a more complete and accurate view of a gene's total transcription activity compared to traditional expression array designs,” said Greg Fisher, Associate Director of Product Marketing, Systems and Software at Affymetrix. "These advancements enable our mutual customers to increase the resolution of expression experiments to examine expression patterns across the whole transcript, all with the familiar and powerful interface of the Resolver system."
Version 7.1 of the Resolver system will be showcased at the upcoming Society of Toxicology conference in
About the Rosetta Resolver System
The Rosetta Resolver system is a high-capacity data storage, retrieval, and analysis solution for gene expression data. The system is ideal for life science research organizations that need to assess compound specificity or toxicity, identify new genes or therapeutic targets or compare and analyze large databases of expression profiles. Life science research organizations that have licensed the Rosetta Resolver system include many of the top pharmaceutical companies in the world, such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck & Co., Inc., and Sanofi-Aventis, as well as premier academic institutions such as the Harvard University Center for Genomics Research and the California Institute of Technology. Additional information about the Rosetta Resolver system can be found on the Rosetta Biosoftware Web site at www.rosettabio.com.

About Affymetrix
Affymetrix GeneChip® microarray technology is the industry-standard tool for analyzing complex genetic information. After inventing microarray technology in the late 1980s, Affymetrix scientists have been dedicated to developing innovative products that provide researchers with a more complete view of the genome. These products continue to accelerate genetic research and enable scientists to develop diagnostics and tailor treatments for individual patients by identifying and measuring the genetic information associated with complex diseases.
Today, Affymetrix technology is used by the world’s top pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotechnology companies, as well as leading academic, government and not-for-profit research institutes. More than 1,700 systems have been shipped around the world and more than 1,100 peer-reviewed papers have been published using the technology.
