Syllego System Application Tip: Import Summary Results

The Syllego system makes it easy to compare your analysis results with published summary results generated outside the Syllego system. For example, if you are genotyping European populations with type 2 diabetes, you may want to verify your results with those published by the Broad Institute.

This tip describes how to import a summary result file to the Syllego system.

1. Obtain a summary results file of your choice and save it to a convenient location on your computer.
   Note: This file should be tab-delimited.
2. In the Syllego system, expand the Analysis Workspace folder of your current study in Navigator, then select the Analysis Results folder (circled in red). From the toolbar under the Home tab in the Create New section, select Analysis Result (circled in red). The Create Analysis Result wizard appears.
   
   

3. Enter information about your summary result file in the indicated fields. This information is displayed when you open the results later.
4. If you already have a file template for the result mapping, select it from the drop-down menu. If you do not have a template, click Next.
5. Browse and select a file (or files using CTRL-click) to import, and select the file type.
6. Specify the following information for your file format:

• Header row and Start import at row—Select the row that contains header information.
• Delimiters—Select the appropriate delimiter for your file type.
• Data Preview—Preview to see how changes to starting row and delimiter change the appearance of your data.

7. Select the format (examples displayed in drop-down menu) for your analysis results.
   
   
8. Finally, map columns from your input data file to existing Syllego columns (or fields).
   Note: You must perform this step to ensure that the Syllego system recognizes your result. The columns to map will depend on the summary result file format.
9. The summary results will appear in the Analysis Results section of Navigator.
